Generally, I saw that the eggs hatched within 3 to 4 days.  Once hatched the babies grow very slowly - the one born on August 26 was only about a third the size of the adults by December 25.  Even when the "baby" died, atleast 2 years later, it was about half the size of the adults.  I can't help laughing at the babies, as they continuously swim rapidly up to the corner of the breeder tank and just stop moving.  When they start to slide back down, they swim back up to the corner.  Both the babies and adults tend to swim in groups of 2 or more and shy away from even the smaller fish when approached.
